ĐT Iraq hủy trận giao hữu với ĐT Việt Nam

Dù hai bên đã ký hợp đồng tổ chức trận đấu này, nhưng vẫn có điều khoản cho phép đơn phương ngừng hoặc hủy trận đấu vì nguyên nhân bất khả kháng (thiên tai, địch họa hoặc có sự cố bất thường). Vì vậy, phía Iraq không phải đền bù hợp đồng.

Sau khoảng thời gian cân nhắc và xem xét các số liệu dịch Covid-19 ở Đông-Nam Á, IFA mới quyết định gửi thư xác nhận và muốn Liên đoàn Bóng đá Việt Nam hủy tổ chức trận giao hữu ở Bình Dương. Thay thế vào đó, Iraq sẽ đá trận giao hữu với Jordan ở Qatar vào cuối tháng ba.

Tổng thư ký VFF Lê Hoài Anh cho biết, với tình hình hiện nay, việc trận đấu không được tổ chức là điều bất khả kháng. VFF cũng đã thông báo với HLV trưởng Park Hang-seo về quyết định bất ngờ này; đồng thời, phân công bộ phận chuyên môn làm việc với HLV Park để có giải pháp tốt nhất bảo đảm kế hoạch chuẩn bị của đội tuyển Việt Nam trước trận đấu chính thức với Malaysia tới đây. Chiến lược gia người Hàn Quốc sẽ trở lại Việt Nam vào thứ năm tuần này.
